John Williams is a famous and critically acclaimed musician-composer that has generated the musical scores for all well-known movies, such as Star Wars, Schindler’s List and Jaws. John Williams was born in Floral Park, New York on February 8, 1932. John’s dad Johnny was a jazz percussionist from Maine who performed all the Raymond Scott Quintet. His mom was out of Boston. He has two brothers, Donald and Jerry, that are equally percussionists from the Los Angeles region. There, John attended North Hollywood High School, where he graduated in 1950. For faculty, he attended the University of California at Los Angeles. In addition, he studied with the composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Back in 1952, John Williams was drafted in the U.S. Air Force. Throughout his time there, he ran and arranged songs for Your U.S. Air Force Band. After his release by Air Force service in 1955, John Williams transferred into New York City and entered the Juilliard School, studying piano with Rosina Lhvinne. At this moment, John Williams also held a few gigs as a jazz pianist in a few of the town’s numerous jazz clubs. After finishing his studies at Juilliard, John Williams returned to Los Angeles and started working as an orchestrator at movie studios.
